INTENSIVE PROGRAM

We are proud to offer a world-class intensive program for qualified students who wish to pursue serious training in the Circus Arts. Intensive students will be provided with the opportunity to work with the highest qualified instructors in each discipline, attend workshops and learn about the industry beyond the skills taught on the equipment. Intensive students have many opportunities to be cast in community events, international circus festivals, TEDx talks, Circus Lab productions, theatrical shows, as well as television and media projects.

Focus of Studies
Our Intensive program offers students the opportunity to customize a program based on their interests and desire to specialize.

Training options include:

  • aerial silks

  • trapeze

  • hand-balancing

  • tumbling

  • aerial hoop

  • contortion

  • object manipulation

Additional Studies
Students also partake in act-development, performance, artistry, drama, acting, rigging, nutrition, stage-presence training, and more.

Performance Opportunities
Competitions and Festivals - Intensive students have the opportunity to present their work at local and international circus festivals.

Television and Media - Intensive Program students may have opportunities to work with various television and media programs, allowing them to build experience with commercials, reality television talent shows, live televised events, newscasts, interviews, documentaries, and more.

Circus Lab Productions  - The intensive students also have the opportunity to showcase their own work as well as staff-choregraphed acts throughout the year in in-house or community productions.

Admission
Year-Round Admission is available. Admission to the intensive program is by audition only. Auditions can be obtained through inquiry or by instructor recommendation. Circus experience is not necessary, although a background in gymnastics, cheer, vaulting, dance etc is beneficial.

The audition assesses:

  • strength

  • flexibility

  • alignment

  • hand-eye coordination

Students ages 12 to 18 who show not only physical aptitude but also commitment to training in the circus arts, an open mind to creativity and self-expression on stage, and a strong desire to learn are accepted on a year-round basis.

Training can range between 5 and 15 hours per week, and training times are available Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday from 4-9pm.
